SERVE is one of our core values because we believe that God has given all his people a variety of gifts, talents, interests and abilities for growing disciples and glorifying Jesus. Ultimately, we serve because Jesus first served us and gave his life as a ransom for many.

So, THANK YOU for your interest in serving at rockypc!

We are so thankful for all our volunteers who use their gifts, time and energy to show their love for others and grow disciples in Rockhampton and Gracemere.

Please complete the form below with your details and indicate which SERVE TEAM/S you'd be interested in joining.

Please be aware some ministries require a working with children check and you may need to meet other requirements and capabilities for ministry at rockypc.

MINISTRY AREAS

There are a number of ways in which you can serve at rockypc.

Our SERVE TEAMS are grouped into ministry areas so that it is clear what their purpose is as they contribute to our GROWING DISCIPLES PATHWAY. Below you can explore the different ministry areas and teams and select what interests you.

FRONT DOOR

“THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CRIES WELCOME TO EVERYONE”

The Front Door Ministry Area focuses on the experience of everyone who joins us at rockypc, with a particular concern for the newcomer/guest/visitor, because we want everyone to know the welcome that God offers them through Jesus. Every time we gather together as rockypc we want to ensure a warm welcome that invites people to spend time with us in a comfortable, clean, safe space.

The Front Door Ministry Area includes the following teams:

GREETING — We want to welcome everyone who walks through our doors, ensuring a warm greeting and positive first experience at rockypc. We want to follow up guests about their visit and seek to help them make connections quickly.
Team Leader: Sarah Poyser

CATERING — We want to offer generous hospitality so that people will want to spend time with us.
Team Leader: Jayne Cho

CLEANING — We want to ensure our buildings are clean, safe and welcoming.
Team Leader: Matt Stewart

UPFRONT

“THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS IS TAUGHT AS WE SPEAK AND CAUGHT THROUGH THE WAY WE SPEAK AND ACT”

The Upfront Ministry Area focuses on every thing that happens on stage/upfront in all of our formal gatherings, with a particular concern to make sure that everything said and done is clear, audible and understandable for everyone, especially those unfamiliar with “church”.

The Upfront Ministry Area includes the following teams:

MAIN MIC — This team focuses on everything that is said from the front in our formal gatherings: leading, preaching, Bible reading and prayer. We want everything to clearly communicate the gospel so that everyone can respond appropriately to God.
Team Leader: Andrew Poyser

MUSIC — As we hear what God has done for us in the Lord Jesus, it provokes a response and one way to express our thanks and praise to God is through singing together. Our Music team works hard to make sure we are singing gospel truths and reminding each other of our great hope in Jesus.
Team Leader: Hannah Stewart

AUDIO-VISUAL — Our A/V team makes sure that everything we do can be seen and heard, including producing the video for SUNDAY ONLINE!
Team Leader: TBC

CREATIVE ARTS — There are some many ways that we can communicate the good news about Jesus. We hope to form a Creative Team who will take responsibility for thinking about all our digital assets and communication, along with building aesthetics and stage design.

SUPPORT

Behind the scenes, there are a number of teams which SUPPORT rockypc's desire to grow disciples, by proving ongoing administration and financial management, governance and pastoral care for rockypc

The teams in this area include:

PRAYER TEAM — Receiving regular email updates and committing to pray about issues concerning rockypc, our region and our mission partners.
Team Leader: Sarah Poyser

PRACTICAL PASTORAL CARE TEAM — In a church community there are always people in need, whether that's the elderly, new parents, struggling families, people who've lost their jobs or are simply moving house. We'd love to have a team of people ready to coordinate practical care for rockypc whenever it's needed.
Team Leader: TBC

MAINTENANCE TEAM - This team seeks to provide a warm welcome by ensuring we have a comfortable, fit for purpose and safe space for guests at rockypc for our Sunday gatherings and other events. If you like using your practical skills, knowledge and equipment to maintain and enhance building assets and to help members of the rockypc COMMUNITY that need assistance then consider joining this team.
Team Leader: Peter Eckersley

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE — Our Management Committee oversees the assets, finances and building needs of rockypc for both SOUTHSIDE and GRACEMERE. They ensure maintenance is carried out and that ministries are equipped with whatever is needed to keep growing disciples. We'd love this team to grow its abilities in strategic planning, building maintenance and development and managing OH&S requirements and pastoral care.

HOW CAN YOU SERVE?

Tip: You can choose as many options as you would like. Further selections will appear based on your responses.

* Involvement in KIDS and YOUTH ministry requires a working with children check, interview and PRESSAFE Training.

* The Management Committee is elected each year at our Annual Congregational Meeting (usually in March), and has other requirements for involvement (BLUE CARD, PRESSAFE TRAINING, GROWTH GROUP ATTENDANCE). The Committee can involve other people to assist as needed throughout the year. If you have specific gifts and abilities that you think would contribute to the work of the Management Committee, please be sure to include them below.
